Margie's Print Tip for April 15, 2013

Sometimes a Tweet (short-form content) is enough. Sometimes, you need an article (long-form content). I have wanted to do this Print Tip for a month but lacked the time to put it together. It's definitely an article, not a Tweet!

This is Part One of a Tip for all you marketers who wonder how can you track your cross-media campaigns.

Enjoy!

Tracking Your Print Campaigns

Part One: XMPie®

This is a column to share with your marketers

Have you ever wondered how you could track a print campaign so that you could measure the response and gauge its effectiveness? I have.

An innocent query from a marketer on this very topic had me post the question in my professional network, and two experts replied with information too good not to share.

New Data on Print Buyers - Special Discount for Tips Subscriber!

My new research report on current thinking of senior-level print buyers is available at a discount for Print Tips subscribers. I surveyed 162 print buyers in December, asking them 20 questions about their buying practices. After I collected all the data, I downloaded all the charts and comments, and I added my own comments to what they shared in this 40-page report. I will be doing more surveys this year.

Love this feedback I recently got:

"It is certainly interesting to me to know what’s going on with other print "people" and see that much of the responses fell right in line with mine. I found the majority of the information in the summary to be very relevant, especially relating to the shift that will continue to occur between offset and digital. I found your summary to be thorough and helpful to know what is going on across the industry."

Margie's LATEST Book: Print Selling Made Simple

GREAT Book for Print Service Providers!

50 Nifty Sales and Marketing Tips Every Print Provider Should Know

I wrote this book to help teach printers and sales reps what buyers are looking for. It's been mighty popular (thanks to all who’ve bought it!), and last week I got this email:

"My name is Josh Ferguson and I am new to the print world; about a year into the game. I recently read your "Print Selling Made Simple" and I found it extremely useful. I am not a person who looks for gimmicks or techniques; I am a person who truly cares about my customers and believes that I will get what I want as long as I help others get what they want/need. Your tips and insights are very simple and easy to understand, which is why I found them so useful. Thank you for taking the time to put your thoughts on paper. As a "newbie" this material will really help me as I strive to separate myself from the print sellers. My goal is to be thought of as a print "consultant" in the industry."

Thanks, Josh!
